As you may be aware, the merger between NZCMaG and ARAZPA has been successfully completed. This has seen the important development of the New Zealand Species Management Programme (NZSMP) that has progressively enabled us to improve the quality of our managed captive programmes for NZ native species. Additionally, it gives us a single industry voice, which has already proved to be invaluable in respect to working with the Department of Conservation towards finalising the technical guidelines for the keeping of New Zealand native species in captivity. As an organisation, we can look forward to a very bright future where we will have the opportunity to make an even greater contribution to conservation.
We have been progressively working through alignment of the membership classes of the two organisations to create uniformity. The alignment of the individual membership types is the last of the classes to be addressed.
Members can take the opportunity to belong to ARAZPA as well as CMaG: ARAZPA NZ (the NZ Branch) or alternatively continue their membership solely with CMaG: ARAZPA NZ. The invoice clearly sets out the details of each of the membership types and the benefits available in each membership class. We are certain that there will be a membership class to suit each of our valued members. Please note that membership options 1 and 2 (full and associate individual membership) are processed through the ARAZPA site links below
NZ Full Individual - CMaG: ARAZPA NZ - $70 + GST
(To be eligible for this membership class, the individuals must be in the employment of a zoo, wildlife park, aquarium or public aviary or alternatively be NZSMP programme participants (e.g. position holders or private holders of NZSMP species that are not eligible for institutional membership.)
- Signs up to Regional Code of Ethics
- Receives both Newsletters (CMaG: ARAZPA NZ and ARAZPA)
- Able to Vote at both AGMs (CMaG: ARAZPA NZ and ARAZPA)
- Eligible to participate in NZSMP programmes if not eligible for Institutional Membership
NZ Associate Individual - CMaG: ARAZPA NZ - $70 + GST
(All individuals that are interested in the work of the association are eligible for this membership class.)
- Signs up to Regional Code of Ethics
- Receives both Newsletters (CMaG: ARAZPA NZ and ARAZPA)
