Antipodes Island Parakeet - Cyanoramphus unicolor

Habitat and Distribution: Anitipodes Island

Characteristics: Larger in size than other parakeets, this species is readily identified by its entirely green head and face that is without frontal bands or eye stripes. It also differs by nesting in burrows or on the ground under shelter or thick vegetation, like tussock or sedge. Distribution is limited to the Antipodes and Bollons Islands plus a number of adjacent islets in the Antipodes Island group
