2009 CMaG: ARAZPA NZ conference registration here
Each year CMaG: ARAZPA NZ holds it Annual Conference
somewhere in New Zealand. It is a great opportunity for members
and anyone interested in captive breeding and conservation of
our unique and precious species come together. Not only do you
get to learn something new, as every year each conference is based
on a theme, and the speakers and topics are based on this theme,
making each year conference new and exciting. We also include
a quick species update section where you can hear the latest news
and developments from captive coordinators.
The conference generally is run over
2 days, with a social conference dinner the first night, this
is a great way to get to know each other over a great meal and
a couple of drinks. This also makes for a great networking opportunity
for species coordinators and captive holders to mix and mingle
and talk about what they hope to do over the next 12 months and
further down the track.
A post-conference tour sometimes also
occurs for those that wish to attend, and can certainly be a great
way to round up a great trip away. We also produce a "Annual
Conference Proceedings" book of all our speakers and presentations
for future reference to look back on.
This is a great time for species coordinators
to get together for their annual "Species Coordinators Meeting",
as the coordinators are spread from one end of the country to
the other, this is an ideal opportunity to hold meetings etc.
Generally the species coordinators / TAG meeting is held the day
prior to the main conference.
